Hi,
The first time to write for this blog. The reason for me to write in english is that there are some other foreigners or non-Malaysian who can't understand Malay but they're interested in our kebaya. Our heritage culture for years.. Since we Malaysians can speaks english, I hope you guys don't mind..
As we know that this kebaya nyonya exists for years before and we still wearing it today as a symbol of a
Nyonya or Malaysians.. This 'Kebaya' exists from the Malay kebaya long before. But this kebaya nyonya have some embroideries, 'sulaman' of nature motives with various colours that makes the designs 'pop' out..
Normally the designs are based on
flowers and leaves. But now, in our modern era, we have modified the designs in order to bring it to the higher level and to improvise the designs so that the youngsters today would have the interest in wearing the clothes.. We have the
peacock motives and the
goldfish motives..
This is one of my favourite.. Actually it's mine (my first kebaya) What makes me to love this??? Let me explain. You see..The fabric is striking pink. But with the flowers of white, striking yellow, green and red, the colours pop out.. And it's very nice for teenagers to wear this kebaya. To those who have a good body figure, curves.. The kebaya will look nicely fit and the 'mermaid' cut 'sarung' will look perfect.. I'll show you how the mermaid cut sarung will look like on the next post.
Now, I'll show you the example Kebaya Nyonya for children..
Well, it actually look the same as the adult kebaya.. but just of course in smaller sizes.. The design, motives are as unique as the adult's kebaya and available in various colours..
This GREEN kebaya, look at the designs and the creativity of the designer. How the colour pop out. My camera is not a high definition so, it doesn't really look like the actual one. like when you're holding it. I love this piece.
The same goes with this piece. I love kebaya when the designs, the florals pop out. It enhance the kebaya's uniqueness.. Well, this kebaya nyonya can be worn with Batik Sarung, or Silk.. It's very nice.. As long as the colours of the clothes suits the sarung, then it'll be fine..
Well, I goes I'll stop here. Till we meet again in the next post. To order, log on to your Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/KebayaNyonyaMelakaAsli (DON'T USE THE SPACES)
